Why You Shouldn’t Settle for the Cheapest Botox and Filler

Published on September 19, 2017 by Soheila Rostami

We know, sometimes a deal is so good you just have to try it! But, there is a saying that goes if it looks too good to be true, it probably is.

Don’t ever try to go cheap on Botox or filler.

You might just save yourself from going blind, as one woman nearly did when she opted for a FREE Botox injection.

BRUISED, SWOLLEN AND NEARLY BLINDED

Tracie Samara had a filler episode from hell when she saw an ad in the paper for “free facial rejuvenation.”

What exactly was injected? Apparently, she had no idea, which only makes it all the more dangerous. There have been many stories of messed up injectables.

Thankfully (though still disgustingly) many of these stories just end up with minor injury, if still horrifying. Oftentimes a poor dermal filler injection can lead to “goopey” face.

But these cases still involve infections which can be quite terrifying. If you’ve ever seen a video of infected injectable material being removed, be forewarned: there’s a lot of pus.

Not to mention that infected injectables can lead not just to blindness, but also death.

The story for Samara ends with her having the injectable removed, and receiving radio-frequency treatments to stimulate collagen production.

BE PRUDENT IN GOING IN FOR COSMETIC TREATMENT

Some people decide to go abroad in order to get cosmetic treatment for cheaper.

This is not a wise idea. Especially for dermal fillers and injectables, which are fairly affordable already. It’s important to have a clinician trained and certified for ANY cosmetic treatment.

This isn’t to say you should never try to save money on cosmetic treatments. After all, sometimes clinics have customer loyalty programs to encourage repeat visits – especially for procedures that need to be performed over the course of a few months.

Interested in cosmetic treatment but not sure how to find the right practitioner? It’s important to be informed and stay safe.
