5 Things That Happen After Microneedling

Collagen rejuvenation is one of the basic types of cosmetic procedure. Along with fillers, they’re sort of a staple. They basically work by doing a precise amount of damage to the skin, leading to collagen synthesis that leaves the skin looking younger and more radiant.

Microneedling is one of these procedures, and it’s much less invasive than a chemical peel or even a laser treatment.

But what does your face look like after microneedling?

We’ve all see what happens to someone’s face after a chemical peel, and people worried about the procedure might want to know exactly what to expect.

1. RED SKIN

It’s an unavoidable truth. If you damage your skin, the skin is going to turn red. This is temporary of course, but some people might not be comfortable with the immediate after effect of a procedure.

Most people should be reassured by knowing most of the redness subsides within 24 hours. Drink water to keep the redness down, folks!

2. ROUGHER SKIN?

Along with redder skin, you might feel rougher skin.

Because this isn’t as widely broadcast, patients who feel rough skin after the procedure might think that something went wrong.

Don’t worry. The swelling and bruising is normal.

3. SMALL MARKS ON THE SKIN

Frankly, when you use a micro needle, you’re making tiny wounds in the skin: microinjuries. So it should be no surprise to anyone that small marks appear on the skin.

Don’t worry too much about it. This is part of the process and they’ll fade away.

4. BREAKOUTS!

Unfortunately, microneedling can lead to a re-enactment of highschool. This actually can be a bad sign.

If you’re prone to breakouts– especially if you have any acne when you perform the procedure–microneedling can spread the bacteria all over the skin.

So make sure that your physician is aware before you undertake the procedure.

5. PINPOINT BLEEDING

Once again, microneedling is essentially injuring the skin in very tiny ways. Therefore a little bit of bleeding–pinpoint bleeding–isn’t something to be worried about by itself.
