Is a Nonsurgical Eyelid Lift Right for You?

EYELID SURGERY NORTHERN VIRGINIA

Patients can now undergo a nonsurgical eyelid lift to refresh their appearance and feel their best without incisions, anesthesia, or downtime.

As we all know, the first signs of aging often appear around the eyes and can make women and men look tired and older. In fact, thinning skin, volume loss, and the delicate nature of the eyes make this area particularly susceptible to wrinkles and hollowness.

In the past, surgery was the only option to correct these concerns and rejuvenate the eyes, but not anymore.

So, what’s a nonsurgical eyelid lift and is it right for you? Here’s what you need to know.

WHY WOULD PATIENTS BE INTERESTED IN A NONSURGICAL EYELID LIFT?

A nonsurgical eyelid lift is an excellent alternative to a blepharoplasty, which requires the surgical removal of excess skin and fat to reposition the eyelid.

While this invasive procedure may be appropriate in cases of bulging fat under the eye, most patients suffer from the opposite issue.

In fact, premature aging around the eyes is typically caused by fat loss that leads to hollowness, dark circles, and a protruding lid.

Fortunately, a nonsurgical eyelid lift can address these problems with a combination of two dermal fillers made up of hyaluronic acid – Restylane and Juvederm Voluma.

HOW CAN HYALURONIC ACID FILLERS BE USED FOR A NONSURGICAL EYELID LIFT?

Microdroplets of hyaluronic acid filler are precisely injected to the area between the undereye and cheek to restore volume. The subsequent plumping of this depressed area eliminates hollowness and shadows that cause the appearance of dark circles.

Furthermore, using this technique for a nonsurgical eyelid lift also improves the contours of the eye to help patients look younger and well-rested.

HOW IS THE PROCEDURE PERFORMED?

Nonsurgical eyelid surgery is performed in an office setting and begins with the application ice and a topical anesthetic under the eyes.

Then a series of focused hyaluronic acid injections are administered for a quick and painless procedure.

Patients can resume all normal activities immediately after, but may experience minor bruising, swelling, redness, and tenderness for a few days.

WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF NONSURGICAL EYELID SURGERY?

In addition to being non-invasive with zero-downtime, a nonsurgical eyelid lift can provide extremely natural rejuvenation of the eyes for up to two years.

This temporary effect also allows patients to make deliberate and gradual adjustments to their eyes, and when necessary, all or some of the filler can be dissolved to reverse or amend results.
