While all of these options enable a high degree of customization, they can also make even the most seasoned filler patient feel overwhelmed.

If you are considering Juvederm injections and want to know which product is right for you, continue reading to learn the difference between the various Juvederm fillers.

WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE VARIOUS JUVEDERM FILLERS?

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring sugar molecule that is found in skin and joints and offers exceptional plumping and hydrating effects.

All Juvederm fillers are made of cross-linked hyaluronic acid molecules to form an injectable gel.

Some Juvederm fillers are comprised of hyaluronic acid particles that are of the same molecular weight. This includes Juvederm XC, Juvederm Ultra XC, and Juvederm Ultra Plus XC.

Juvederm fillers that begin with Vol-, such as Juvederm Volbella, Juvederm Voluma, and Juvederm Vollure, are made with a patented Vycross technology that cross-links hyaluronic acid molecules of higher and lower weights.

These subtle differences contribute to each Juvederm filler’s unique formulation and capabilities.

WHAT DOES EACH JUVEDERM FILLER DO?

Juvederm XC is designed to plump lips and fill-in moderate to severe wrinkles.

Juvederm Ultra XC is an excellent option for anyone who wants to add volume and definition to their lips.

Juvederm Voluma XC has the thickest HA-gel formulation, which makes it perfect for deep injection and augmenting cheeks and lifting the midface.

Juvederm Volbella XC, on the other hand, has the thinnest and most spreadable HA gel. As a result, it is often recommended for subtle lip enhancement and smoothing vertical lip lines.

Juvederm Vollure falls somewhere in the middle in terms of thickness and spreadability. It is ideal for smoothing smile lines, also known as nasolabial folds, while maintaining natural facial expressions.
