Upper Blepharoplasty
In this procedure, the excess skin and the fat from the upper eyelids is removed. The incision is made at the upper eyelid creases. This incision can be made with laser or cautery, but incision made with a blade have been shown to have the best results with the least scarring. This procedure can be done in-office with a local anesthetic injection. This is one of the most rewarding procedures for patients, as it makes the most difference in rejuvenating the face.

Lower Blepharoplasty
In this procedure, the excess fat or puffiness from the lower eyelids is removed. The excess skin of the lower eyelids can be very difficult to treat. If there is a slight shortening of the lower eyelid, it can lead to sever lower eyelid ectropian (inverting the lower eyelid outward). This complication can cause severe eye irritation and corneal changes, which could be damaging to the eye itself. Many surgeons recommend removing the excess fat from the inside of the eyelid with no incision made outside. It is recommended to combine this procedure with laser resurfacing or chemical peels to treat the lower eyelid excess skin or wrinkles.
